We love to imitate superstars and their fashionable styles onscreen. But the credit goes to the people, who design their looks.
Shiraz Siddique, 28, is one such costume designer, who made ShahRukh Khan look good in Chak De! India and Riteish Deshmukh look good in Dhamaal.
Nithya Ramani asked Shiraz to list his favourite star outfits.
ShahRukh Khan
I designed SRK’s outfits in Chak De! India. His outfits were very simple but that makes it the toughest. I also styled his outfits for his ads like Airtel, Belmonte and Dish TV.
I loved working with him and Farah Khan in Om Shanti Om. That was my best experience with him so far. Farah is very particular about what she wants, and who does her costumes. She likes bright colours.
We had to design the outfits according to the 1970s and 1980s styles. I learnt a lot during that time.
Karan Johar
I started my career with Karan Johar. I have always wanted to be a costume designer but my mother wanted me to become a director when she realised I was inclined towards films. I assisted Karan as a junior assistant director during Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham.
Karan saw my interest towards costumes and designing and asked me to be the costume coordinator for Kal Ho Naa No and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
I styled Karan in the second season of Koffee with Karan. I also designed for the guests, who came for the show.
Karan Johar looks the best in a black suit with a sheath of black shiny sequences in the collar. I think he is the best dressed man in the film industry.
Shahrukh is a great actor. If he is seen with any an indian actress, they both look wonderful. He and Gauri make a beautiful couple. She is so lucky. What a multi-talented man.
HE IS TO HOT TO HANDLE.
